P.S I personally want Epic to add their steamcharts just to see actual Fortnite popularity levels on PC and compare them to CS:GO. I can see Epic Games discussing this matter with major publishers and avoiding adding this feature that potentially creates problems for their business.īut having such service is very pro-consumer and prevents people from being fooled by ads like "joing the 1500000 million players in X game!!!" when in reality this number is just accounts created and the game can be easily pretty dead with no point in joining. As an example, around 2015, Blizzard stopped publishing their WoW quaterly numbers because they got so bad and they just didnt want to embarass themselves (and get their reputations/stocks down).

Having something like Steamchart instantly gives away free and accurate information about how a game is actually doing instead of how game companies want to present their situation. I think number 1 reason is Epic launching their platform as a pro-dev/publisher first and foremost.
